1 – General Terms

GoCar South Africa operates as an online platform connecting customers with trusted local car rental suppliers across South Africa. We do not own or directly rent vehicles – all bookings are fulfilled by independent partners who provide cars, insurance, and customer support.

2 – Booking Process

All bookings are made online through our official website. Once you complete your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email with details of your booking. You must review all information carefully and inform us immediately if any details are incorrect.

3 – Payment and Deposit

GoCar South Africa offers No Deposit and No Credit Card car hire options on selected vehicles. Depending on the supplier, payments can be made by debit card or cash upon pickup. Some cars may still require a refundable deposit which is clearly stated during booking.

4 – Identification and Driving License

At the time of pickup, the main driver must present a valid driving license and identification document (passport or ID). International travelers whose licenses are not in English are advised to carry an International Driving Permit (IDP).

5 – Insurance and Liability

All rentals include basic insurance coverage such as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). Optional full coverage with zero excess may be available for an additional fee. The renter is responsible for any damage or loss not covered by the selected insurance option.

6 – Vehicle Pickup and Return

The car must be collected and returned at the agreed locations and times. Late returns may result in additional charges. Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as received, with the same fuel level unless otherwise stated by the supplier.

7 – Modifications and Cancellations

You may modify or cancel your booking according to the policy displayed during checkout. Most bookings with GoCar South Africa offer free cancellation before pickup, but some partners may apply specific terms. Refunds are processed based on each supplier’s rules.

8 – Cross-Border Travel

Traveling outside South Africa with a rental car requires prior approval from the supplier. Additional documentation or fees may apply for cross-border trips to neighboring countries such as Namibia, Botswana, or Lesotho.

9 – Responsibility of the Renter

The renter must comply with local traffic laws and ensure the vehicle is used responsibly. Unauthorized drivers, reckless driving, or the use of the vehicle for illegal purposes are strictly prohibited and may void insurance coverage.

10 – Limitation of Liability

GoCar South Africa acts only as an intermediary between the customer and the rental supplier. We are not liable for delays, vehicle availability issues, or damages arising from the rental agreement between you and the supplier.

11 – Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be published on this page with the effective date clearly stated.
